Great place to work for sociable people ready to do some good for charity! I worked here for six months and had a blast. The nature of the job can be tough at times so perseverance is the name of the game. The warm feelings from raising donations for great causes and making lots of friends more than balances it out.

I worked at PO for six months when I first moved to Melbourne as a backpacker, first as a fundraiser and then a team leader. The work the Melbourne PO office does for charities across the world is immeasurable and the people behind it are incredible. It’s an amazing place to meet people while travelling and I’ll be returning to PO when I’m back in Melbourne.

Cannot believe how bullied I just felt from the person who called me from this place. I expressed I had just started a new job, the market was bad in my industry (so not making money), economy, time of year. This person was almost gas lighting me and patronising me saying how much I should be able to pay. 4 times she tried to talk me into being a monthly donor after I said a firm NO the first time. By the third time, I said "you're trying to pressure me and I don't feel comfortable" but she tried again. I said I'm in a new job and can't be talking on the phone this long and she TRIED AGAIN. I had to hang up with her after PLEADING for her to stop so I could end the call on a nice note.
Absolutely horrible to be pressured into donating at this time of year with the cost of living right now. Blocked the number!!!! Will remove myself from the Amnesty email list now.

Me: Hey, sorry I really need to keep the line free as I have phone consult with my doctor coming up.
Call centre jerk: This won't take long.

Dude, as a "charitable company", maybe don't attempt to prevent folk from accessing essential services. So inconsiderate! As if I'm donating money after that interaction.

Note: I supported Red Cross for 4 years. I'll pick another charity next time.

Fantastic place to work! The staff genuinely care about the causes. Managers offer great support to the team and have fun while doing it. If you’re passionate, have a good sense of humor and want a rewarding, enjoyable job I would definitely recommend Public outreach. The skills I learnt there were transferable to so many different aspects of my life. Cheers PO!

I am getting onstant calls from this company daily, sometimes twice daily for weeks from different numbers. I continue to block them, but they still call from new numbers. I never signed up for any calls or even knew of this company until they started calling me. Will avoid like the plague. Unethical. If this company was any good or generated any value to anyone, they wouldn't need to buy contact lists and spam people with their calls.
