I have sent multiple emails to the Public Advocate's Office regarding critical concerns from our community, yet I have not received a single response. This lack of communication is disappointing and does not reflect the level of support expected from a public office meant to advocate for us. Regrettably, they will not be receiving my support or that of my constituents this year.

This office was a Great help for me as my Mom that lives in a Nycha apartment. During the covit 2019/2020 when all the offices were closed. When it was time for her renewal the Nycha office lost my Mom renewal documents there for they had the wrong information about her household income. Also they were sending her a letter of lease breach broken which my mom had no idea what was that, and they were saying that she had not paid her rent the correct amount, there for Nycha was trying collect money that she did not owe.$4k . all simple because it was thei their mistake.

I contacted the The office of advocate by phone also email. A person name Melissa D God blessed 🙏 she called took my case and was able to resolve my issue.

. Letitia James should be called the Private Advocate as she is solely in it for herself. I have never seen Ms. James publicly stand up for issues that didn't solely concern African Americans. which is discriminatory. Ms. James and staff, are supposed to do their jobs, be accessible to the public, as they are salaried by the public and not by one faction of the public.

I already called for help with a pending issue regarding a taxpayer funded city agency. I was never called back and of course nothing was done. I called again today after 9:30AM speaking to a "Thelma" who told me the weather was too cold for supervisors to be present by 9:30AM--So the rest of the public starts work at 9:00AM but Ms. James and staff are so privileged thus lazy that they think that the weather is an excuse to not do their jobs.

That said thank goodness for the internet, as you are also reviewed publicly. Thus, you should be concerned and working for issues that affect us all and you should be doing your job.

Mine is not the only negative review of your lack of work. I know that you won't be getting my vote in future as you don't deserve it.

On 2/12/13, I received 2 tickets, one for $25, which I've paid already. The second ticket was $100. I've tried to pay online, but the website doesn't work for me. I have proof to back up what I'm saying. I also had a hearing, which I missed, because I got sick. Because I missed the hearing, the ticket rose to $300. If it is possible, I want a 2nd hearing. If it is not, I will only be able to pay the ticket little by little, because i am in bankruptcy. Thank You.

I haven't sought help from the Public Advocate's office in many years, but my several experiences with them has always been very helpful. For example, when I had a solid complaint about a health insurance company, it always resulted in a positive response from the insurer within a week, with an apology and a check in the proper amount.
If I had a problem with a city agency, the Public Advocate was very appropriately helpful.

I will write an update about the result I get with my current problem.
I'm confident that the Public Advocate will be helpful.

They will not do anything major to assist / help you with your case, of course not to fight for your rights. Not clear what exactly their job is, to make one phone call? super disappointment!!!!! super lazy attitude, they will not even bother themselves to do anything to help you. Do not waist your time
