Accidentally discovered this place when i was looking for croissant. The Almond croissant was so good! the mini cheesecake too, and the lady was really nice❤️ love the ambience, wish i could sit down and enjoy the place next time!

The custard doughnuts here are so good. Like, out of this world good. The coffee is average, the vibe inside is bad, the place is always a bit dirty. But I keep going back anyway just for those custard doughnuts.

Laurent cafe standard is pretty standard everywhere. This Laurent is nicely located near Fitzroy Park. Good coffee, pastry and service.

We were in the area on a Saturday and dropped by for a coffee and snacks. Food and sweets are delicious as always, coffee is average, service this time was prompt, as we were there late in the afternoon and the place was quiet. However, they must have had a ver busy morning and they couldn’t get around cleaning the place, floor was very dirty, this was quite disappointing, never experienced this at any other Laurent bakeries.

Really nice bakery outside of the cbd, easy tram to it if needed. Superb fresh breads and rolls, took a few with me for a walk today.

The greatest advantage of this restaurant is the variety, but that same variety is problematic if one or two products are not of the same quality as the others, my favorite was the Ciabatta sandwich with salmos and egg, but the gateau fromage is not up to par with other cakes on the same shelf, the eclairs as well as the donuts are only good fresh so I don't recommend it late in the day but first thing in the morning freshly prepared.

Everything was excellent! I had a delicious croque monsieur (think a ham and cheese toastie with béchamel sauce then toasted in cheese) a it was fantastic! All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Drinks were good too - recommended!

I can c why there is a big difference in the experiences (and reviews) at this place.
Place : looks nice, recently renovated. Not too spacious and filled with tables.
Service: the lady I dealt with was very polite and friendly, however, I can c what people r talking about with regards to costumer service from other staff.
F&B: had a flat white and yes they seem to like to add too much milk. I would say it is below standard for Australia The pastries were of a good quality though.
The place seems to have some previous good reputation (came here based on a recommendation from a friend who had been to Melbourne previously) they should work extra hard to keep it.
And, yes, many older couples come. Nothing wrong with that. I actually enjoyed some of the chats with them.
