Publix Super Market at the Shoppes of Highland - Hialeah, Florida

First time Visit on 11/9 @ 630 pm. The store is very nice. The centered deli area is perfect. I ordered subs that were delicious. I tried an orange chicken bowl at the sushi counter and it was yummy. My kids ordered deli meat as well and I must say every single employee at that centered area is on point. Their friendliness and helpfulness is turned to one hundred. I applaud their attention to detail. The entire store is up-to-date. The bakery is lacking. I wanted to take home a couple of items but the male employee changed my mind. I kindly asked if he could slice some bread for my mom but he offered an eye roll and asked if there was sliced bread somewhere within that display area? I noticed he was just talking to the female bakery employee and their general work area was packed up and closed before 7 p.m. I placed all the bake goods back on the display shelf and left. The female employee asked if I needed anything after she witnessed the brief interaction with the male employee but I was done at the bakery and decided I didn't need anymore groceries from this store.
My youngest wanted to dine upstairs. We checked out and ate half our subs upstairs. The view of the store is pretty cool. It was a bit messy but that was definitely because the other customers seated had left a trail of wrappers and spilled beans or soup. There wasn't any napkins but I'm always prepared. I wiped down our table before and after, we did enjoy our dining experience.
This store is nowhere near home but it was worth the drive.

Very exciting that a new grocery store has opened up closer to our community!
The selection is great, with everything from fresh produce to organic meats and cheeses. They also have a wide variety of prepared foods, so you can easily grab something to eat on the go or just seat and enjoy on their new seating area.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for a great place to shop for groceries nearby

Brand new Publix just open a week ago. Much larger than the other one nearby. The deli section is amazing. Super friendly staff. Much bigger parking lot and of course being new it is much cleaner.

It also has a self checkout lane which the other one did not have.

Ironically, the newest, fanciest & cleanest Publix but with the most horrendous customer service. The hot foods area is a disaster. You'll never get any help, all attention is on subs and deli. Staff will literally see you and not help. You'll need to flag down a manager to get hot food. And they profile me every time I check out. They harrase me about items I've already scanned. It's like shopping at Walmart but worse. Even had a female manager physically grab my arm a few months ago. These people are out of control.

The sandwich/deli department is very inefficient. EVERY TIME I go pick up an order whether it’s a sandwich/wrap etc. there is an issue with my order. In the last 2 weeks, it’s been chaotic with this Publix. First, I understand there is sometimes high demands with orders. However, every time I go pick up my order it is never ready. And when it is, it’s hiding in the “back kitchen” or right behind them, and they end up giving it to me cold. Another time, I go to pick my order. And of course, it is not ready. The lady said she never received my online order because their machine “ran out of paper”, and my order never printed. That is an unbelievable excuse to give to a customer. Today, as I go pick up my order…. Only one was done, and the employee said that I didn’t order a second one. I had to show her my confirmation so she can believe me. Then they had me wait an extra 15 minutes on a bench in front of the registers waiting for my food. I finally get my wrap, and none of my condiments I had added were in my sandwich. After today, I’m never returning to this Publix for an online order from their sandwich/deli department. They need to fix the whole process…..it’s a mess and the staff are rude.
