The reason I decided to go with Gerald Pratt and 578 Media, LLC is because his girlfriend and I have been friends for quite a while and she recently did my apartment move-out cleaning.
Here’s the short of it
- Was presented with 578 Media, LLC by Kristi in March 2021…filled out the consult form on his site a few days later
- After not hearing anything after two weeks, reached out to Kristi to see what was going on; come to find out he never received the submission because his own website had issues with receiving submissions 🚩
- Resubmitted the form at the end of April. Went several weeks and didn’t hear back again…come to find out his request he sent near the end of May went to my junk folder
- Finally made email contact with him June 17 to set up a call the next day; after him missing several times we both agreed on 🚩, we finally talked June 30, went over the price ($1500), and submitted the 50% deposit that same day
- Started setting up his business to have access to my domain and provided the preliminary information; never heard back 🚩. Reached out in August to Kristi (since she’s been very responsive throughout our friendship) and she claims that he sent me an email on July 31 with follow up. Go immediately to my junk folder and there is nothing. He “forwards” over the email he sent, but if you click on that email you’ll see my name is not in the “To” line 🚩. We press on…
- Being super busy with work and already outside the timeline of the project, I get him the requested information when I have a moment to put it all together. I sent seven Word documents of information for the site. Each submission, there was something missing from it and had to follow up to get it added. Some items still never got added after sending it three times 🚩
- December, I’ve had enough. I sent an email in November and still nothing was done🚩. December 23, I sent an email stating that I was going to terminate the process and originally asked for $450 of the $750 back; sent a follow up email an hour later after thinking through it and asked for the entire $750
- That same day he replies and apologizes, and offers to finish the site today. I decline, as I don’t feel that we should “rush” through something that should have been finished months ago. While doing that I noticed he was rushing to put in items on the site I sent months ago 🚩, so I went into my domain and terminated his access.
- Because Kristi had been so responsive, I message her as a last ditch effort to rectify this. She and I have a conversation on 12/27 that started out being defensive but ultimately became amicable. In that conversation she mentioned that Gerald was willing to finish the site in the next few days and not charge me the additional $750 to complete. She sent an email on 12/30 to put that in writing. I seriously had to consider this because Kristi has been a great friend, but ultimately I decided that because this was a website build and would have to continue to work with this company for future revisions I declined and asked for the money back. I have yet to receive a response from either party since 12/30 🚩🚩🚩🚩
Now I’m out $750 and missing out on business by not having a website almost a year later.
I will never recommend anyone use his services (578 Media LLC) based on my personal experience as well as the words of others.
In short….BUYER BEWARE! 🤦🏾♂️😕
