American hutters produces some fantastic hats for sure. I own a mad Hatter El Dorado purchased in 2017 at the Texas Lone Star rally. It is exceptionally well made, such that it survived mostly being lost out of a motorcycle saddlebag on I-10 and then found 8 hours later after a rainstorm. Other than I pop seam on the crown and damage to the trim and a bent wire the leather was intact. My only issue is that American hatters is not currently offering the restoration service they still sell. They were extremely gracious with excellent customer service in offering me a deep discount on a replacement hat. However, I am an emotionally attached sap, who's pretty good with his hands, and knows this hat is worth saving. I have done all the work to get it back to the point where I just need trim material. That seems to be the greatest hurdle. I have reached out to the manufacturer yet again, this time to request the trim material only. I have managed to track down a skilled leather worker with the sewing machine appropriate for reattaching it once I overcome this hurdle of materials. After a number of emails I was finally contacted by Cary, a relatively new employee to American hatters who works at their Texas warehouse. I resent all the the previous information to him directly, and he has told me that he will get back to me within an hour to answer this the availability of the trim. Until I had problems restoring my hat they would have always been a five-star, but the fact that they don't have anything straightened out to deal with the service that they still offer and sell is a disappointment. I have been told several times that they still make the hats in California, but have been unable to track down anybody who actually works there or source materials from the factory. I was told they weren't offering refurbishments because they were in the middle of reconstruction after opening a new warehouse and didn't have any of the equipment set up, and that there was no anticipated restart date for these services. I will update my review once I have a response to my request for trim. I have included my photos of the reconstruction to attest to the durability of their leather hats. Update I was sent new trim and hat wire material with extra at no cost. This was shipped directly from the California manufacturing facility. I found a local leather worker to sew the edge back together, and at his recommendation he went with a wider deer hide trim. This was an upgrade from the vinyl trim, and ensured the new stitch would not compromise the brim near the original holes. Perhaps it could have been done exactly the same as original by the original manufacturer but I didn't want to push him past his comfort zone as he was not a hatter, and I felt the leather was a nice upgrade. It took some time to acquire authentic silver nickels for the replacement hat band, as they are well made replicas theses days. Mine were authentic on the original, but now lost band. I am very happy with their product, and I am even more motivated to purchase another.

My Go-To hat, Marlow w/ Chain hatband. Never leave home without it. Also, I'm an impossible to fit 5XL size hat. Fits perfectly. (size 8.5, ish) Leather is heavy duty enough to be pretty much indestructible, but comfortable. Worth every penny.

I've worn American Hat Makers Breeze hats for the past 20-years and love them. I called Customer Service yesterday and had the good fortune to work with Oliver. He was great and the company provided me with excellent customer service. Couldn't be happier and I have always loved their hats. I get constant compliments on my hat and it has become my trademark to many people I meet. When they see me several years later and say they remember meeting me, I ask if it's me or the hat and it's usually the hat they remember.

Company agreed to repair my purse. That was awesome. Sent my purse back to them and after the repairs were done they sent it back to the wrong address. Fortunately I was able to go to the address that they send it to and retrieve my purse.
