We chose Colby as our videographer for our coastal wedding in Half Moon Bay on 9/2/23, and he was, without a doubt, one of our favorite vendors. From the beginning, we were incredibly impressed by his professionalism, talent, and personal approach. Colby took the time to get to know us both as individuals and as a couple before the wedding, which made a huge difference on the big day. Even though he wasn't our photographer, we were so impressed with his work and how comfortable he made us feel that we knew we’d want to work with him again for future events—and boy, are we glad we did!

On the wedding day, Colby brought such a relaxed yet focused energy, which made everything seamless. He made the experience fun, capturing all of our most cherished moments in a breathtaking video. We still watch it regularly to reminisce! He also provided us with a fully edited video very quickly after the wedding, along with the most adorable keepsake—a wooden box with a handheld video display inside. It's a memory we'll treasure forever and something we’re excited to share with our family for years to come.

Fast forward a year, and my husband and I are now expecting our first child. Knowing how amazing Colby was at our wedding, we immediately thought of him for our maternity photoshoot, even though he hadn't done our photography on our wedding day. My husband reached out to Colby last minute to organize a surprise shoot, and Colby was so accommodating—he fit us in that same week! Once again, he brought his A-game, and the photo session was just as effortless and enjoyable as our wedding day.

Colby captured this special moment in our lives beautifully, and we received the photos promptly after the shoot. We’re absolutely in love with how they turned out, and it’s clear that Colby is not only an incredible videographer but also a phenomenal photographer.

We hired Colby to create a new volunteer orientation video for our nonprofit. The video was clear and fresh- exactly what we needed! Colby was very great at communicating and executing our vision for the video. He also sent the video back to us in a timely manner and made sure he had EVERY shot and angle perfect. I am writing this review only one week after my wedding, and, before even receiving the final product because we had such a great overall experience that I know we will be pleased. I popped my head into Colby Barrett's storefront one day because we were in search of a photographer. As soon as I met Colby, and viewed his samples, I had to set up a consultation with him so my fiancé could meet him as well. We instantly booked with him. We felt totally comfortable, like we've already had known him and really noticed the love he possessed for his profession. He had a modern/cutting edge which we didn't feel from other photographers we sought out. He provided us with a guideline of what he needed from us and asked what we wanted from him which was extremely helpful since we have never worked with a photographer before.

During the event Colby and his second shooter were beyond professional as well as fun! It was an extremely hot day so I'm sure we were all a bit distracted and wanted to just eat and dance (lol)...but they kept reeling us back in and had the absolute best suggestions on poses. I'm pretty confident that I will be more than happy with the pictures, and, may possibly be adding on to this review!

Just one more side note that not only did we love Colby and his crew, but, all my guests did as well. They covered Everything you could ask for, but, you hardly noticed the camera's. Everyone kept asking me where we found him and I cannot stress how happy we are that we added the photo-booth to our package! My flower-girl and ring-bearer must have hit it up about 20 times each time picking a new costume/prop, because, there were that many to choose from!

Very pleased and Colby Barrett Photography is highly recommended! We hope to one day work with him again for family photos!
