The Directive staff are amazing. They helped us build a great website and they always give detailed step-by-step directions if we want to do additions/modifications on our own. They are also more then willing to step in and make changes for us if the changes are out of our league.

We were very disappointed in the treatment our nonprofit educational foundation received from Oneonta IT Support & Web Design | Directive, Oneonta, NY. We felt their work was sloppy, untimely, and in no way reflective of the “custom website” we were promised. Moreover, they refused to make any adjustment to the $3,000 fee we paid them, despite our being a charitable organization (and despite their knowing we were founded in honor of a young man who lost his life in the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center). Although we tried to discuss the matter with them, the CEO’s answer was, “There is (sic) no refunds…. We consider this matter closed.”

The CEO’s son had me convinced that Directive would create a custom website for us. But the graphic artist we worked with told me she had never created a custom website before. Instead of consulting with us on the materials we conceived for our new website, she wasted time designing the project based on our old website. The result was not only obsolete, but it reflected her vision rather than ours. There were numerous other errors - including the misstating of our trademarked slogan - which needed to be fixed, and which thus prolonged a project that was already running behind schedule. Also, without notice, the graphic artist canceled the whole project two weeks before our planned visit to meet her and discuss our custom materials, in an effort to correct her presentation.

I would not recommend Directive to anyone. If you are considering them, you might also check out the website “Glassdoor,” on which employees can submit reviews of their present and past employers. Comments from former Directive employees make it clear that our foundation’s experience was not unique. Unfortunately, we learned of them too late.

I can't say enough good things about directive. Here's just one example of how they go above and beyond. Imagine this: It's 1:30am. The Hotel we are at for a trade show said they have internet but it wasn't working. We called Directive at 1:30am, someone answered the phone on the second ring, diagnosed the laptop which was good. Then called the ISP for the hotel and determined the switch was down for our room. Directive didn't stop there, they called the hotel got us a new room AND a discount on the room for the trouble.

I would not hesitate to recommend them, I have used them for almost 20 years for all of my IT and Websites for multiple businesses I own.
