So, this is a divided review. This property wants to receive a 5 star, but I truly cant provide it. This property (located next to golf course) in a massive hotel and convention center. The buildings themselves are older, and when you look just below the surface the age stands out. Things just dont quite work; power in our room flickered because of aging outlets/fixtures; the carpets are a bit old; the bathroom is very dated. However, the staff and amenities are well above par. Everyone on the staff was very helpful and polite with everything we needed; when our initial room had issues, the staff quickly resolved and moved us to a new room. They were very informative about the local area. The main atrium of the hotel is quite to behold with its vaulted ceiling and fountains. The pool and spa located in the central courtyard were clean and well kept.

It seems like the Doubletree has gone downhill in a couple of ways. I have stayed here many times throughout the years as it has a convenient location and has been enjoyable. This stay I called down to the front desk shortly after checking in with my young toddler because there was no microwave in the room for his nightly bottles. Usually someone will bring one right to the room with no issues but I was informed that they do not do that anymore and that I could use the one microwave on the floor that is next to the ice machine. I do not feel safe walking to the microwave multiple times in the middle of the night to make my son a bottle, having to get him out of bed to walk the hallways of a hotel in the middle of the night. Just want other moms to know that they changed their policy, I would not have stayed here had I known this "new" policy. In addition, the water in the shower/bath did not get hot, it was barely warm enough to use. We also had a room with a balcony and there was trash on the balcony at check in and it was very dirty. I wouldn't let my toddler out on it as it was pretty gross. Loved the restaurant, the steak was really delicious for dinner but the hotel needs to step it up a bit.

Minnete was great! She helped me with my questions and was very pleasant during check in. The room was ok. The amenities were decent and the hotel was clean. Overall a great stay even though it was short. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to come back.

Minnete and the gentlemen at the from desk are extremely friendly and welcoming!! They took care of us during our stay. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. We highly recommend it! It's in a great location as well from being about an hr from the SFO airport and about 30-45 from the Bay and wineries!

Our family has stayed at this location many times. Minnete H. was a stand out who works at the front desk. She was absolutely a pleasure to deal with during our stay . She greets you with a big smile and a great attitude! She goes over and above to meet any requests even when she is super busy.

I stayed at the Double Tree on 2/13 for four nights with a group of about ten other families who were traveling for a hockey tournament. I booked a Parlor Suite for each night. I learned the day of that the hotel holds each room night, tax AND $75/night refundable security deposit prior to your arrival. I don’t have any heartburn about that, just was surprised by a $300 security deposit to a longtime HHonors member.

The lobby is really nice. I’m almost certain it’s the same carpet as the one in the Double Tree in San Jose. Updated similarly too. I was VERY surprised there was no coffee available, like at all, ever.

I stayed in the Parlor Suite on the 3rd Floor. Room was a 1/5. Each and every cushion is stained, some in the shape of a butt, or would have some sort of gross crusty food. Other furniture is chipped, torn or worse. The bathroom is huge, but the tiles are broken and lift up when you walk on them, the hardware is the shower is older than I am, and the fan didn’t work at all. Lots of dark-colored mold in the crevices. The room itself had an odor that was reminiscent of an old folks home. Hotels get wear and tear, no way around it. But when a couch is discolored from sun exposure, or a chair has a dark outline of a butt, or an ottoman has a tear in it, why NOT have it repaired or replaced immediately? The room was so far behind the curve in upkeep, it was embarrassing for them, and for me, a rip off.

The saving grace was the bed. It was probably old, but it was firm and I liked it. The downside is there’s no fitted sheets. They literally fold a sheet over a mattress topper, then put a comforter down. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that did this.

The majority of the staff I came into contact with was just plain rude and/or unwelcoming.

The gal who checked me in was very nice. Credit goes to her. I can also tell the housekeeping staff is encouraged to greet and acknowledge guests as they pass in the hallways. Outside of this, the restaurant staff was horrid, and quite honestly, curt.

Our group one night was occupying a cordoned off area in the lobby, sort of a space for people to stay out of the way. As it would turn out, this just so happened to be the preferred way servers liked to go to and from the bar. One younger female server, with sleeve tattoos, was obnoxiously rude. The first time she passed, she told us while rushing through how the area was for servers to come through and we needed to make room. Anyone reading this knows there is an open area immediately beyond this gathering area, and arguably is just as simple to pass through. This server wouldn’t give up, and kept the attitude going through the night. One time, another female server brought food to our group and served it on the pool table. The tattooed server came over shortly after and grossly got upset at those people, telling them it wasn’t for eating on.

We had been playing pool that night. All was good, no issues and certainly not abusing the table or anything. The following morning the table had an out of order sign on it, and the front desk told us the “sticks were broken”. Several hours later, other guests got sticks and balls from the front desk and were playing. When they were done, the out of order sign reappeared.

Finally, I spoke to a guest at the pool who was traveling to the area for work. Come to find out, he was in law enforcement, and when he checked in with a state government rate, the front desk told him they “don’t give that rate to police officers”. Not sure where the mindset was, but does this hotel NOT honor a government rate to a public servant who is in town for work because of some woke reason

Overall, the grounds are great, tons of parking (but no EV chargers), the hotel has a lot of potential upside, they put on a great facade with an updated lobby, but the staff and management are failing the hotel, its amenities and rooms.

I arrived here on NYE and had previously reserved a king bed. The front desk clerk told me they did not have any Kings available and she did have 2 queens. I accepted the 2 queens and was told my room was at the very back of the hotel which made me feel some type of way. We checked into our room and went to the Casino for the NY countdown. When we returned to our room We notched the heater did not work I called front desk he said maintenance is not on site so he would send extra blankets up. Then as I walked into the bathroom there were dead and alive ants in the bath tub. I called front desk again and he said he has a king bed to transfer me into and the staff would bring new keys for me. When I asked why I was told they didn't have any king beds he said someone did not show up so now I asked him "so you would hold a king bed for someone who has not checked in and not for someone who is already there}? He had no answer This made me feel a way again and this room was at the front of the hotel. This room had a bug the size of an inch on the bathroom wall I was over it at this point fell asleep for a few hours and got up at 8 am to leave. When I went down to turn in my keys and ask for a refund she said she would refund my parking cost and I had to call Expedia to get my room refund. This seems like steering to me because I am of color I would never stay at this hotel again. Now I noticed why everyone in the back of the hotel was Hispanic, black or had kids. That's Definitely steering to me.
