Happy to pay for special/unique items, but they charge $17 for a standard pack of non-fancy PG Tips tea that’s $10 elsewhere. Sometimes the staff are really nice but sometimes they don’t say a single word to you at all.

I’ve been living next door to Gristedes for years and am saddened by how impersonal the service is here. The cashiers don’t even stop their conversation to say hello and often don’t help bag groceries, even though they’re not doing anything else. I hope it changes one day! It’d be wonderful to have service that makes you feel like a neighbor.

This chain of grocery stores is offensively expensive. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for these prices. 16$ for a pound of lunch meat. It's basically a social injustice when you go to a store and a pound of basic lunch meat is more than the minimum wage. It's no wonder people are starving and can't feed their families, and that shoplifting is such a huge fad!

The deli women roll there eyes and actually say how much they hate working there. The whole store is WAY over priced. The managers and most of the cashiers are nice.

Most people shop Gristedes because it is on the corner and not far to walk. However, prices remain high for basics.

Gristedes remains the same. People are awaiting the arrival of Wegman's in 2023. I was shocked to find Hellman's mayo 30 oz. for $9.69. I put it back.

Neighborhood supermarket with high prices for grocery basics. If you are a senior, you can get 10% discount on Tuesdays with your Gristedes loyalty card. If Gristedes is your local market, make sure to sign up for a loyalty card that gives you discounts and deals for select sales and senior customers.

Honorable mention for the very nice friendly Deli man who slices your order to perfection. And Gladys the cashier who is super friendly and helpful. Even when I am not on her line, I stop to say hello and wish her a nice evening on my way out.

Decent store. Has your basics. It has more of a variety than the one on 66th and 1st. Prices are better than whole foods but not as cheap as trader joe's. But I feel as if gristidees has a better variety than trader joe's. All in all a solid mid sized super market .

Gristedes on University Place in NYU territory is one of the best stocked and well maintained supermarket in New York City. Bordering neighborhoods like Greenwich Village, the East and West Village, and NoHo to name the few main ones.

Well maintained, well stocked means well priced. Kind of pricey for almost everything except if the items you want are on sale.
