This is a very beautiful library! I am not a resident of Highland Park but I come here often for the free classes on Saturdays. You can tell the librarian, Pam, puts a lot of time and effort into the classes because they are always wonderfully coordinated. It’s also a great opportunity to get together and visit with other like-minded individuals.

It’s a library with artistic architecture, good collection of books, and great library programs. You don’t need to have a library card to participate the programs. The librarian Pamela has organized several fun programs. I really enjoyed them. You do need to be a highland park resident to get a library card and borrow books.

Went tonight to finish up some charting on my home care patients.
I was immediately greeted , & guided where i could go to use my laptop. The wifi connection was excellent. I couldn't find the electrical outlet. The Liberian who greeted me happened to walk by me, & she came back to help me & even plugged me into a floor plug on the opposite side of my partitioned desk top.
I was there until 645pm, & saw another employee going thru & wiping down each work space.
The building is beautiful Italian Mediterranean with lots of ornamental concrete detail.
I will definitely be back. There's an elevator and very nice bathroom & water fountain . I love all the custom carpentry, desks & chairs.

Must live within the high income house district to be accepted here. So if you want to read some books and you live in Dallas but not the rich neighborhood, you're SOL.
Not to mention all the other low income libraries close early or barley even open.
It's really unfortunate that they deny education to people who don't make $100,000,000 a year.

What a cool, fantastic building. The architecture is beautiful and speaks perfectly of an era from the past. Absolutely fantastic.

This is not a public library. This place is for rich people only, very discriminatory towards anyone else. If you are just a regular Dallas resident, they WILL NOT let you get a library card or check out any books.

Beautifully up-kept very old library straight out of the movies, but useless if you bring anything modern like your laptop and want to access the WiFi. There is very limited seating, especially with power outlets, and the WiFi in the upper level has an extremely poor signal (I was not able to connect to either my laptop or cell phone). I am giving it two stars due to the chance that you might see the ghost of Jimmy Stewart while you are there.

IMPORTANT: This library is only free for Highland Park residents. It's a couple hundred dollars a year for non-residents.
