This place has one of the best Hawaiian foods that I have ever eaten in San Diego! Including tip, I paid $24 for the garlic chicken plate and a drink which I believe is fair for SD prices and considering I still had leftovers for dinner. The place has a really nice atmosphere and background music. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We placed a catering order of over $2,000 for a party. Our order consisted of several protein entrees, a variety of appetizers, and side dishes.

The communications prior to the event were timely and I appreciated the recommendations from an experienced event perspective. Khara even went above and beyond to provide guidance for my additional questions.

The food was without a doubt spectacular. Delivery was on time and very quick to offload and setup. Everything was transported very safely so no damage or spillage. Chef Andy helped us get everything laid out on the tables and even lit the stereo cans for us.

Our guests were raving….still are raving about the delicious food!

A small place with big aloha. Recieved a warm greeting when we walked in. The person at the register gave a quick walk through of the menu with some recommendations. She explained to us that the poke and the spam musubi were sold out. My kids were a little sad since they love spam musubis. To me it meant that Kalei's food is fresh and is made with quality ingredients resulting in something delicious(apparantly so good that they sold out) I told them "don't worry,we'll get some next time." We ordered 2 Kalei's plates the first was huli huli & garlic chicken, the 2nd one was teriyaki and huli huli chicken. I ordered the loco moco and a side order of Garlic Furikake Fries w/Wasabi Aioli. The combination of the garlic and Wasabi aioli with furikake elevates these fries to a place were no other fries has gone. Simply Delicious! A perfectly cooked beef patty with yummy gravy, side of rice n Mac salad. To me the loco moco is definitely the BIG KAHUNA of Kalei's Kitchenette. Friendly service, onolicious food, of course we'll be back.

The gentleman at the front counter give me a really warm welcome when I walked in and I’ve never had Hawaiian cuisine before so I asked him to give me a little bit of a rundown of like kind of what his personal recommendations are. He recommended me the teriyaki beef and the garlic chicken. Both entrées are amazing and then the two sides that I got are the cucumber salad and the rice. The cucumber salad is so refreshing. And the rice is well cooked. I also got a package of Adzuki Bean Manju and it’s delicious. I was slightly hesitant about the bean paste in the center but it was very good.

Wow, we have needed authentic Hawaiian food for a while in PQ and Kalei’s is absolutely amazing!! I popped in for lunch and was greeted right away, and was provided helpful info about the menu.

They have weekly specials which are always fun to take advantage of to add some variety but I can see the Garlic Chicken becoming a craving — it looks really good and was recommended by the helpful person at the register.

This week’s special was Crab and Salmon Dynamite. Duh I ordered that! Topped with a tasty sweet sauce you are accustomed to but with WAY fresher seafood! For the sides I got the cucumber salad and rice which were delicious, cucumber salad had crisp cucumbers, onion, and was a nice acidic addition to the plate. I’m gluten free and have plenty of options besides some of the sauces.

I was really impressed by the freshness, portion, and overall quality here at Kalei’s!

Takeout packaging was sturdy and packaged neatly. They offer all different types of Hawaiian Sun which is a must with any item you order. They also have fun authentic Hawaiian / island snacks that are rare to find - awesome! Saturdays are the only day they offer Poke, which means it’s FRESH!!!!! 😍

I’ve eaten here twice. The food is great the atmosphere so cute. First time I had the two entrée plate and the second time I got musubi to go. I loved the musubi…. $4.00 each I had 2 and was stuffed! My favorite was the crispy garlic chicken! I’ll be back!

I love Kalei’s Kitchenette so much. I've never had a bad meal here. The portions are amazing for the price, and the flavors of each meal are so good. I highly recommend getting the Poke, which is a Saturday special!!

Ordered online for pick up on their website. I had seen they were doing a fundraiser for a local grade school and wanted to support a local business that supports their community. We had the garlic chicken, Kalua pork and huli huli chicken. Mac salad , white rice and pickled cucumbers. Everything was tasty. Garlic chicken could have used a little more sauce.
