The staff was very helpful and I thought the library had ample resources. I really liked the idea of puzzle swaps. Great engagement activities for kids. Looks beautiful inside and out and offers great quiet space for learning and creativity.

This library is amazing! As a parent I adore the children’s area downstairs! They actually have toys for children to play with while I look for books. The librarians in this downstairs area are so nice and good at what they do.
My son and I come often. He loves to help checking books out and returning them through the slot. One day a lovely librarian invited us in to see the room “behind the slot”. She let him practice being a librarian and taught him how it all worked. What a great experience! Also conveniently across the street from Cherry Hill Playground.

If you're looking for a place to sit and study with your laptop on a table... yeah right good luck trying to get one. No quiet rooms or enough areas to be able to sit down and study with a laptop or table. Two stars for being clean and looks nice.

Mary R. Styles, huh?

Do yourself a favor, just remember it as MRSPL. For a mnemonic, try Mr. SPL -- that's an abbreviation-within of Special. Thank you, I'll be here all day /end chorus

On a more serious note, I swung by here on Saturday afternoon, right after the FC Farmer's Market closes up shop on noon -- I was visiting here, actually my first time at the Market.

Parking is always a test of the mettle for me. I knocked out parallel street parking for the Market so I decided to just stick with it, no questions asked. There might be library parking but I was none the wiser. Also some spots are 2-hrs only but I parked there for way over, and again didn't see any raised eyebrows so I figure that's just business as usual, so let's not dwell overmuch on that.

Let's speak on the Library itself. It's a bit quaint but also modern. I spoke with a librarian and 'twas mentioned they had remodeled recently. I say more power to them.

This spot has its own library card -- can you imagine that? Like way outside the law. Part of no county either. A roll-yourself a brand new card. I never heard of no library that had its own card before, and don't call me Shirley no how.

Feet on the pedal though, that means any books you check out need to be returned only at this location hereabouts. Exactamente, capeesh?

All in all, good day and visit here. I stayed too long ogling the different study rooms and areas, as well as the large shelves of books.

Oh, and I checked out two books. Just don't write me up for that, ok? I'm just a lendee here. I promise I won't flout the law. But again, no one's the wiser, me foremost.

Anyways, great banter. Watch out for the Farmers Market close by that apparently draws the spotlight. And remember Mr. SPL -- he's got his eyes squarely on you, so be silent while on the premises for goodness sake!

This is the best library in Falls Church City. I always reserve the study room here. I would say the environment of this library is the best, and there is a lady named Sami who is always kind, with a smile and welcoming attitude.s

Mary Riley Styles Public Library has been renovated and expanded to make it better than ever. A great, quiet place to study and read. I found two great books at the book sale bookshelf. I took them to the front desk to pay for them and I was helped by a very nice library employee named Olga. I found the most comfortable chair to sit and read. I’m grateful that in this day and age, we still have libraries. Nothing beats an actual book you can hold in your hands and read ❤️ Also gives me a much needed break from using my smartphones!
Mary Riley Styles Public Library is a true gem in Falls Church and is a wonderful place to study. It’s a quiet and respectful environment, with comfortable seating, and plenty of outlets to charge your devices. There is even a desk next to each comfortable chair to put your books and belongings on. The lighting is excellent, and bright enough to keep you alert as you study, and lots of big windows to let natural sunlight in. The staff keeps the library spotless and in pristine condition. The bathrooms are clean, which is a huge plus, and they have an Elkay water dispenser that lets you quickly fill your own water bottle with filtered water (there is also a water fountain if you didn’t bring a bottle). The air conditioning is nice and crisp, the cool temperature is a welcome relief from the summer heat we are experiencing. The library is kept at a perfect temperature and it feels so nice. All these thoughtful touches make this library perfect. The library is welcoming to people of all ages and has a special section for children as well. The library staff are professionals who create a positive atmosphere, and keep the library safe. I’d like to thank them for everything they do, as they are contributing so much to our community by keeping our beloved library running smoothly. This is a very happy place. ?
