After almost two weeks of spotty service and lengthy periods of no service during the holidays (when people want to use their service the most) I decided to cancel. In two years mediacomm raised their prices by double, and charged me for over usage w/o notice for several months. Again when my promotional period ended they up charged me without notice. Despite the increasing costs my service never got better. The 1 Gig service I paid for was 80 dollars/month and my brand new docsis 3.1 router only showed speeds of 200 - 400 mbps and my internet went out several times a day.
Not only that. When I called to cancel I asked for a continuation of service until my new internet was set up and they agreed, which they usually do anyway for 7 days. However, one day later they shut it off……..now I’m completely without internet for several days.
The upside is they do have pretty good customer service when you call and complain, or threaten to cancel, but I don’t want to do that.
With a 1.8 star review rating I should have known better.

I give one star because I can't give any less. It should be a negative 500 Stars. I have been a loyal customer for almost 3 years never late on a payment in fact I pay early if I can I pay extra so that it can be credited. And this is the worst internet I have ever had it's outrageously priced. Every time I complain my bill goes up a couple dollars to 10 or $15. They always say they're going to credit my account and they never do. They always try to say that it's something in my house or it's not their problem it's mine. When my whole neighborhood is having the same problem. Out of the month we get two or three days of Internet but yet I get charged the full amount this month they surprised me with it being $130! When I signed up I was promised great service there would be no issues. I homeschool my children and we depend on internet. We have had to result to going to the library everyday for school now that the library is closed basically we are crap out of luck. And of course after a bad review Mediacom will reach out and want to address the issue, they will probably never fix. I might as well switch companies or just get my kids phone lines for school work. At this rate it will be cheaper and the prices dont change every mth.

I had set up automatic payments for my internet billing and was told multiple times that so long as I had money in that account, I would be paying my bill on time. My internet was just disconnected without receiving any email warning be about that and needing to pay and it's going to take a few days and a reconnection fee to get it reconnected.

if i could put 0 stars i would. when i say they hire anybody they hire ANYBODY. no qualifications necessary and you can tell. i never give bad reviews but before moving anywhere make sure this isn’t ur only option. literally dont do it the service and the product is garbage.

I am very disappointed with Mediacom’s service. I scheduled an appointment for installation on 6/30 between 5:30-6:00 PM. I received a call from the technician at 4:30 PM, but I missed it and called back within a minute. Despite this, my order was canceled. The customer service team tried to assist and see if the technician could still come out, as the appointment time had not yet passed. However, Mediacom refused to reschedule or honor the original appointment, even though the technician only made one call attempt. This experience has been very frustrating and unprofessional. I hope Mediacom addresses this issue for future customers.

Loyalty means nothing. Have been with them since 2015 (9 years), moved twice. They kept changing prices, but my last straw was when they upgraded my internet because they no longer had my previous promotional price and package. But increased the price $30 and didn’t notify me at all.
I finally cancelled my service gave them a specific date to cancel so I can get the other internet service installed, and Mediacom decided to cancel it early. Blaming service issues canceling prematurely. And in order to get the internet re-installed a service tech would need to come out, they’d waive the service charge, but I’d have to have their internet another month. Supposedly pro-rating it for the 1 week I use it, but at this point, they’ve lost my trust and business. I refuse to give them another dollar. Don’t do it. There’s other competitors in town now, RACE COMMUNICATIONS, FRONTIER, etc

Don't sign with Mediacom. It's bad. Go anywhere else. I've had it with them myself. I wish I saw the reviews earlier. They are not exaggerating. I'm switching to race. Wake up Mediacom!

Literally the worst company you can go through for service in Ridgecrest. Problem is they have a monopoly over most of city so a lot of us don't have a choice. Service is terrible, there are hidden fees they dont tell you about, customer service is terrible, don't even get me started on if you get routed to a person after-hours. Just got off the phone with your generic overseas rep and he spoke over me the whole call even though I was just asking questions and trying to pay my bill (a whole other can of worms. If their website ever worked to let me make an account, I'd pay online), then basically called me a liar until I said I would speak with someone in store instead of putting up with him. Look, I get it, I've worked customer service all my life, typically the other party doesn't really know what they're talking about, but I've never spoken over them and treated them like a child just to end the call faster. Anyone that says that "Mediacom has changed" obviously doesn't see how little they've changed from a few years ago. If I had another option for internet, I'd go to them in a heartbeat. Nothing but issues. 🙄
