We had a fantastic dinner at press. The food was amazing and the library wine pairing was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and the whole service was great. If you love fine dining and you are in Napa Valley, then it is a must. Reservation in advance very recommended.

Best bite: the Dungeness crab and caviar

Overall the experience was enjoyable, service was beyond attentive (though very pushy on the wine pairing), and the presentation of the courses was superb. The ricotta and the carrot could’ve erred a little on the side of ‘less is more.’ The Dungeness crab was incredible as was the perfectly executed scallop. The seating arrangement is odd in that the outside rows of tables have only side by side seating, making the interior of the restaurant seem like an audience.

Press offers an ambitious winter tasting menu that shows promise but ultimately delivers an uneven dining experience. The restaurant's contemporary approach to fine dining, incorporating global fusion elements, demonstrates creativity in concept, though execution varies significantly across the courses.

The evening begins on a high note with their standout caviar pretzel, featuring cultured yogurt butter and golden white sturgeon caviar. This is followed by another excellent dish - the Dungeness crab with buckwheat milk bread and white sturgeon caviar. These opening courses showcase the kitchen's potential and set expectations that, unfortunately, the subsequent dishes struggle to meet.

The $75 supplemental black truffle addition proved disappointing, with dry, poorly shaved truffles that failed to justify the premium price point. While the service staff maintains professional standards throughout the meal, the later courses like the American wagyu and sea scallop preparations lack the same finesse and excitement as the opening dishes.

Celebrating our honeymoon at Press was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped in, the staff treated us like lifelong friends who always indulge. They welcomed us with complimentary glasses of the restaurant's finest champagne and surprised my wife with a custom cocktail crafted just for her. Every member of the wait staff took the time to congratulate us on our marriage, adding personal warmth to impeccable service. They went above and beyond to provide us with a three Michelin star experience. Press didn't just give us a meal; they gave us a cherished memory we'll treasure forever.

This was an arranged dinner reservation by our husbands for our group. We had no idea where we were going until a couple of days before. Talk about surprise and delight! You already know it's going to be good if there's a Michelin star involved! Everything was prepared so beautifully and tasted so good. Service was coordinated and Michelin star worthy as well. Definitely do not miss the caviar and pretzels, one of my favorite dishes of the night. But overall, everything was delicious. They even had a thoughtful Mother's Day complimentary dessert for us complete with a little candle on top. I'd definitely come back to Press!0

The service is top-notch here. Although it took me some time to order at the very beginning, my server was very attentive after that. For the dishes I only selected the lobster upgrade. Originally I thought it would be an extra dish. However, it turned out to be a replacement. After checking with my server, she was kind enough to let me also try the other (I also paid for that). And it turned out to be so good.

For the dishes, everything was surrounded with summer vegetables, especially cucumbers and zucchinis, which made most of the dishes have a higher acidity. I really liked it (except for the desserts though, too acidic for me). My favorite was the grilled lobster and the halibut (the extra that I had). The lobster was cooked very tender but not too soft. The sauce with avocado didn't steal the umami but enhanced the flavor. The portion of the halibut was very generous. It was wrapped with squashes, which provide a sweet yet sour flavor. Another dish to mention is the duck heart and gizzard that came along with the main duck dish. I only had chicken hearts and gizzards before so this is totally new and I like them.

I am happy about all of the dishes except some of the desserts. The flavor of the strawberry with soda foam was just too strong. However, I can totally understand if someone likes it.

Go to this restaurant you will truly love it. It’s by far one of the most exquisite restaurants to visit. Make sure you ask for a tour of the wine cellar. They have a giant cock that is covered any green enamel to tell you the time at all times and their tasting menu is truly outstanding
