My favourite wine bar! From ambience, food to wine selection i can’t fault it. It is my new go to place to buy my bottle of wine. Owner is very lovely and helpful in assisting you to choose the right wine that suits your palate. Love the organic and natural selection of wines. Thank you

A group of friends and I came to Public Wine Shop for Valentine’s Day. I chose it because it was one of the very few restaurants that weren’t forcing you to do a set menu. I had also been wanting to visit it for so long! We ordered quite a few things to share. I really loved the Loafer bread with oeuf mayonnaise and trout roe, it was very unique! The only thing I was disappointed with was the service. The food took so long to come and the lady serving us seemed to have a bit of an attitude. I understand that being Valentine’s Day, they would be pretty busy but it was just a shame because the food was really good.

The food was absolutely delicious and the wine of course. Our fav was the gnocci and chicken wings!! The service was also great and very knowledgeable with the wines. Highly recommend!

such a lovely experience... the food and the hosts made it a top experience. Its a cheerful place, well thought through. It was full to the brim at the shared table when we went, loud but not unpleasantly noisy. We had a lot of help with wine choice and that was really appreciated. Food was excellent. A lovely mid-week treat.

I have been raving about this place since having dinner with a friend the other night. The service was exceptional, wine delightful, and food delicious. On a cold and rainy winter's night this place was the perfect sanctuary. The public wine shop is a standout amongst Melbourne's incredible wine bars. Thanks for a fab night.
