Rick and his crew did top-notch work. The paint job was beautiful, they helped us older folks by moving the heavy furniture and then some. It felt “no fuss no muss” for us while they seemingly effortlessly got the job done in the time Rick predicted and the cost that was bid. He even did an extra item that we had forgotten to mention. Their prep was excellent. No accidents, no damage, no major residual dirt. They arrived every day by 7 am. Rick was ultimately and successfully accommodating when there were questions. And they are all respectful, careful and Nice!

We hired RM to paint our new home build interior and doors last summer, they did a terrible job on the doors and verbally agreed to return to fix them and never did yet cashed the check. We are building contractors as well and as a business owner it is your responsibility to fix employees mistakes. Sadly we will not be recommending this company to anyone in the Northstate that we work with.

They painted the interior of my house and refinished the kitchen cabinets back in March. Rick and his wife told me that we could be in our house while they worked and that they would be as little disruptive as possible. They told me that I didn't have to empty my kitchen cabinets because they would tape them off with plastic before painting. They didn't bother to do that before they sanded down the cabinets, leaving a huge mess inside! Also, they were supposed to fill in all nail holes that I didn't want to keep, and I noticed after they were done that they had left most unfilled. Rick was supposed to retexture wall areas that had damage, as long as he could make it look close to the surrounding texture. It didn't look even close and was so overdone that I pointed it out to him, and he would get angry and argue that only I noticed it. I finally got him to sand those areas down. There were wall imperfections that he was supposed to fix because it was in my contract, and when I pointed them out, he would get angry and say again that only I noticed it. It was a constant battle to get him to do his job! The only thing he and his crew did a good job on was painting the walls and ceiling. They left paint on most of the door knobs and jams. They didn't sand my cabinets down perfectly smoothly. The cabinet doors that he took back to his shop to refinish look good except for the top edges and a lump on the front of one that should have been sanded down. On one of the drawer fronts, they didn't bother to secure a nail that was sticking out, so it quickly popped back out. When I pointed this out to Rick about a week after they had left, he told me, "I'm a painter, not a carpenter." I did a walk through before they left but couldn't catch everything that needed touching up during that time. I later noticed that my bedroom window seal hadn't had the old patchy paint sanded off before they repainted it, like he said they would do. His young crew were nice guys, but I don't think he had taught them well enough. One nice thing Rick did is that he had his guys raise my drapery rod up higher. On the other hand, he was dishonest. He told me that he wanted to keep me and my husband as customers forever and to just let him know if we had any problems, and they would come out and fix it for free. What a lie! Before they left, they cleaned up their equipment on our front porch and lawn and left a big mess! They even splattered some paint on our porch walls and floor. After that, I found that they hadn't bothered to paint an area of wall behind our refrigerator or paint the inside surface of the furnace closet door and frame. When I called him about a week later, he said he was busy and to call him the next week. I did, and he said he would come by the next day at a certain time. He never showed up. This guy doesn't care about customer service. Don't waste your money.

RM Painting & Design was hired to make revisions of the interior of the sanctuary to our 105-year-old church. The work included painting the entire interior and replacing the ceiling with pine board-stained oak with simulated wood grain finish. The project came in on time and on budget. Rick and his team are excellent to work with, they are courteous professionals with outstanding skills. They protected interior furnishings and cleaned up all the debris when the project finished. Our congregation was very happy to see a beautifully finished sanctuary.
