It's a great library, comfortable to study, crowded sometimes but quiet. Morden and clean, loved it

Library staff aren't ever helpful, and are also kind of rude about problem solving at the concierge desk with an "oh well" kind of attitude.

The only place is Melbourne where I can focus, even though you don't wanna study but after seeing lots of people studying and the environment will make you study. Decent spaces accompanying different human moods.

One of my favorite place in Melbourne .
Friendly facilities for visitors. Environment is very clean and tidy.
But sometimes feel too cold because of AC.

I have rated the library 4/5 as most staff are helpful and the facilities are good. But as at the date of writing (22 April 2016), almost half of the computers have an A4 sheet pinned to them which reads: "This problem has been reported". Well, so much for that! The closing procedure on Saturday evenings is deplorable: I don't want to single out a particular library officer or security officer but suffice to say these officers are very poor ambassadors of RMIT. (As an example, you don't ridicule an international student asking to use a rubber band by saying: "Do we look like a stationary store" then turning away, laughing about it to your colleague and then joining her in the twiddling of thumbs -- it was embarrassing to be part of the Australian educational system.) Contrast that to the closing procedure on Wednesday (midnight): both staff and security displayed good customer service. Basically, the good here outweighs the bad.

I would not ordinarily expect extraordinary service at a university library ... that was until I went to the "Ask A Librarian" with my inquiry as to where in the library would I find marketing book. Well, I was greeted with a warm smile by Matthew, not only did he answer my question, he also checked to ensure that we had all the possible categories covered. In addition, without any prompting from me, he found that the Brunswick campus had additional titles of the particular marketing area that I was looking at. My advice, if you are not getting good service ask to see Matthew - a star performer.

FIVE STARS FOR THE STAFF ATTITUDE TO STUDENTS
This city campus library has been around for a very long time and has morphed into a student learning support service. Not only can librarians guide you to the best literature and journals for your studies but they are also quite skilled at helping you to design your search strategy, decide which sources are high quality, how to cite your references and how to format your bibliography / reference list.
