Wasnt too bad, the view was perfect. Nice and roomy, the kitchen was nice. Pull out couch the top of cushion was worn and when took cushion off it was stained. The old sheet was still on the bed. But they did have plenty of sheet sets for it. The 2 lamps in living room did not work no light bulb. And the door you had to make sure you pulled it shut, otherwise it wouldn't shut. Last day there when we were taking our stuff down the elevators weren't working, glad we weren't on the upper floors. Noone is inside except for someone in parking lot and in morning someone cleaning up outside.

First Gulf Shores vacation in 35+ years. Feels like expectations have changed since we last came out here when I was little. When we arrived, we found the room was attractive and clean, just as pictured. But upon closer inspection, we found quite a few things that seemed sub-par.

All of the dresser drawers were very wobbly opening and closing, some resisting so much it wasn't even worth trying to use them. I didn't mind, since I prefer to set up my luggage on top of a dresser or spare bed so I can skip the sad repacking at the end of my stay. Still, even my cheap IKEA dresser back home has guide-rails allowing it to easily open and close smoothly every time. This was unexpected, and had a (small) negative effect on my experience.

Upon opening the laundry closet doors (the kind that slide/fold sideways to open at the center), the right door fell out of its groove at the top, and nearly fell on my head. It had to be propped open awkwardly to stay upright (blocking half the hallway), and we simply left it that way so that we wouldn't have to repeatedly fight with it. This was another, more serious negative.

Both bedrooms plus the living room all had TVs with a "DISH Network" console. Every TV seemed to have 3 remotes, at least 1 of which was unresponsive. Instructions indicated each remote SHOULD be labeled "bedroom, living room, etc", but they weren't. No clues other than the brand name, and some featured a brand that did not match any console/tv. Both bedroom TVs had a decent selection of things to watch, but buttons were very laggy. For some reason the living room TV only seems to have Roku service instead, and had little to choose from, mostly with looping episodes of older material. Could not find any "live" content other than weather. Plus, my bedroom TV was so bad it was showing double images, making it very hard to watch. Another unexpected negative.

Surprisingly, the only 'lobby' was an unattended area with seats, books, posted 'rules' of the property, a few vending machines (one of which stole a couple quarters from me, because of course it did), and the elevator. We tried calling the "local property manager", only to discover she was "not in the office" and left a voicemail about the issues instead, also asking for a bit more laundry detergent and some filters for the coffee maker (we found zero). We never heard back. No one ever knocked to see if we needed anything. With only a few days to stay, we decided it wasn't worth the hassle of trying the other numbers listed for the TVs etc. This might just be a symptom of staying at a place where people *expect* to be left alone, and I just didn't realize what I had chosen.

Overall, I was satisfied with my vacation. I got a decent price for a beachfront rental, but now I see why. The quality of the accommodations was definitely rough around the edges. That may be the fault of the owner/manager, or it might just be unfair expectations on my part. Something tells me it's a bit of both.

We stayed in room 362. I’m not sure if this room was privately owned but it not very clean. The floor was covered in sand, the lights did not work until we messed with the breaker box and the toilet had issues flushing at first. There was a broken chair left on the balcony along with a bunch of tortilla chips... on our last day, a man finally brought us a new chair for the balcony. The kitchen was well equipped but none of the dishes/utensils were clean. We had to wash everything before using it. We also found fleas in one of the beds. Our first day was spent cleaning and sanitizing. I don’t expect perfection but the cleanliness was far from it. While we were sitting on our balcony on our last full day, painters came down and completely blocked our view to paint our balcony area. Construction was going on the whole time and someone even dropped a window from one of the upper floors and shattered right beside us as we were eating at the picnic area. The pool was not heated but nice, a little chilly. The beds were comfortable except the couch pull out bed, as to be expected. The master room had a queen or king sized bed. The hall way had a set of bunk beds (very cramped for adults.) the second bedroom had a full size and a twin bed. Both rooms had a bathroom. We had a group of 9 for which the room was supposed to be equipped for but there were only seating for 5 in the living room area. I would stay here again if the room was cleaner. For the price we paid, it was not anything great. Views were breathtaking and we enjoyed our stay for the most part. I feel like we should have been given some of our money back or an extra night or 2. Since our first 2 days were spent cleaning and getting rid of fleas (we only found 4.) there was not an infestation. It probably came on a previous guests luggage or from their animal. They have 3 grills in the picnic area and that was very nice. We stayed Mother’s Day weekend (Friday-Tuesday) 2020.
