What really stood out to me was the friendly and helpful staff. They were always ready to assist with any questions I had and made my shopping experience enjoyable. Plus, the prices are very affordable.

It would be really helpful if you could organize the takeaway containers on the first floor according to their size. It doesn't make sense to place the 280ml containers in a random spot. Alternatively, placing clear size labels on the shelves would save your customers a lot of time. It doesn't matter if you've been using the same system for the last 10 years – a more organized approach would benefit everyone. While the place is fantastic, customers often struggle to find the right takeaway containers. Staff on the first floor can easily locate them by looking at the boxes, but this is much harder for your customers, who can't easily identify the sizes without picking them up and checking the labels. It does not matter it is a $2 item or a $2000 product. It must be given equal importance. On average, 15 to 20mins of every customers’ time is getting wasted finding items in this section. The staffs must be trained to receive customers’ feedback at first floor without yelling to the customers.

“I always check out Chefs Hat when visiting the South Melbourne Market, it’s like the IKEA of the culinary world. It’s a great store for gifts, I like to give cocktail & wine glasses and they have such a great range that is always changing. The staff are so helpful and patient ( I probably drive them crazy with my questions) and appear quite knowledgeable. I’ve picked up some lovely items and the recipients have loved receiving them as gifts. I now want to get the Sam Gordon POTTR coffee cups for myself, they’re gorgeous.”.

Where the chefs shop literally. Chefs Hat have everything you want and can think of and even the stuff you never thought of until you’re in the place and you have a light bulb moment. Been coming here for well over 10 years from buying kitchen equipment to knives, plates and everything in between, super helpful and backed with knowledge of the products. Staff are super friendly and always asking if you’re after a hand with anything , it’s ran like a well oiled machine. Easy to shop and buy without feeling pressured like some other places.
Even makes it better that it’s right across from my favourite Market, it’s a chefs/foodies dream! See you soon guys ?

For a business that’s a real paradise of catering and kitchen equipment and needs, the staff are regrettably rude, arrogant and aloof. I got the impression that I was interrupting a conversation between three of the shop assistants and they couldn’t be bothered to be helpful. I’d invite your staff to come to the country to experience what friendly and sincere service looks like.
